A visit to the Madame Tussauds wax museum at the Siam Discovery Centre is not to be missed out on. Everyone has their favourite musician, actor, or sports figure. Amusement Parks

Thailand is known for its very warm climate which can be a bit of a strain for some kids and even adults to endure. A great way to beat the heat would be to visit any of the several theme parks in the city where water activities offer a chance to splash about and gain some cool relief. Dreamworld is a popular European-styled theme park that offers a wide range of fun outdoor activities to enjoy.

The park includes roller coasters suitable for riders of various age groups, including those built around having water fun like the Super Splash and Grand Canyon. For an even cooler experience, check out Snow Town where you get to bundle up and frolic in a manmade arctic winter wonderland.  Besides the various rides, there are also plenty of fun parades featuring many beloved cartoon characters, animal shows, and several food courts and restaurants where you can find delicious food to enjoy. 

The Fantasia Lagoon waterpark at the Mall Bangkae, Funarium Indoor Playground, Siam Amazing Park, Asiatique Sky, and Kidzania at Siam Paragon are other great amusement parks worth a visit that also offer educational tours and fun interactive games for the kids. 

Museums and Aquariums

For a more cultural experience for the kids, you can explore one of the many temples and museums that are spread out across the city. The Ancient City is an excellent venue that features the world’s largest private open-air museum. Spanning over 200 acres, it features replicas of Thailand’s most famous monuments which you can tour on foot or hire bicycles. 

Doll lovers will enjoy a visit to the Bangkok Doll Museum where kids can get to see and make variations of traditional and more modern dolls. On the outskirts of the city, you can visit the National Science Museum which offers several hands-on exhibits and fun activities for kids, including science experiments.

The Children’s Discovery Museum in Chatuchak is another fun destination that offers learning opportunities and interactive indoor and outdoor exhibits. It also has its own waterpark, a mini theatre, and playgrounds. Aquariums are a big hit with kids and Bangkok has several that are worth a visit, including Sea Life Bangkok, Bangkok Aquarium, Underwater World Pattaya, and the Bang Saen Aquarium.  

Public Parks

For a more leisurely experience, feel free to visit and explore any of the many public parks around the city. Thailand values its natural environment and has many dedicated green spaces where residents and visitors can take refuge from the bustling city. Lumphini Park in Central Bangkok is the most popular park where you can take walks, ride bikes, and paddleboat with the kids. Covering about 58 hectares of land it also features designated playgrounds and spaces where you can take up Tai Chi and other fitness activities. 

If you decide to visit the popular Chatuchak Weekend Market, consider diverting to the nearby Wachirabencharhat Park. It is a great place for families to have fun with plenty of bike paths, manicured gardens, a golf driving range. You may also want to take pictures at its quaint Bird Wave Bridge or get up close to winged insects at its Butterfly Park. The park also has a sports complex with a pool and playgrounds for the little ones. 

Nature-lovers should make a point of visiting the Rama IX National Park in the outskirts of the city. Amongst its highlights is a botanical garden and seven other gardens that are themed for different countries. It is a great place for picnics and features an amazing gold and white pavilion. Around the boundaries and entrances to the park, you will find easy access to street food and cool drinks.
